Sorry to hear that, perhaps try one of the breakers on ebay.

Fitting it, does one have to remove the headlining?

My 340's aerial was vandalised recently, top section broken off and spring bent.

I've replaced the top section with part of a wire coat hanger, looks OK, but now the hinge part is a bit loose and the aerial drops down.

I got an aerial complete from Braydon motors. I'm hoping the interior trim just above the windscreen will give me sufficient access to fit the base.

There's no need to hope, there is.

fitted like a dream. Just remove the plastic panel, unhook the roof lining and Bob is your mother's brother.

Excellent, will have a look at my car later today if weather is OK. All I need to do is tighten up the pivot so that the aerial does not flop down.

I had a look at the aerial mount today. Yes, looks like the trim panel comes off easily for access.

The pivot is too loose on mine, can it be tightened? I have not removed the aerial/ mount yet.

Don't know about the pivot, but the whole unit comes away easily enough so you can have a good look at it in the workshop. Probably a captive rivet pivot.

Thank you for the reply, I will probably do as you say, but in the better weather.

It's not an urgent job.

Better weather today, so I thought I would look at tightening the pivot of the roof aerial.

Did not go to plan, removed the interior lamp and the plastic crumbled in my hands, gluing it together now and reinforcing with epoxy adhesive. In removing a couple of screws retaining the trim panel, two screw bosses disintegrated, epoxy again. Given up doing the aerial for today!
