Possible Sale 2004 XC90 D5 SE
Hi All, I've only recently acquired this car from a family member as I needed 7 seats. We've only had the car a short while and the wife has decided it's not for her. A long story that I won't bore you with!
Essentially its a pre dpf euro3 163bhp car, geartronic and awd. Auto box is smooth, no clunks etc REG: V70 KMB - will come with the original plate once a sale is agreed Its done 160,500 miles with a loads of service stamps! Recently had an oil/filter and air filter service. Silver with black leather seats Rear park sensors Mot is due in the end of March 2018 Bodywork is really good to be honest, no dents scratches etc. It has a few age related marks mostly inside done by my sisters kids. One of the 3rd row seat cushions has some tears. I'm on the lookout for a replacement if anyone knows any going? Sometimes the rear park sensors decide not to work (maybe one in every ten times?) And the car sometimes loses power when driving - this has been to Volvo and there aren't any faults showing. Again it's happened maybe a handful of times since it's been in my family's ownership. I'm currently at work, I'll get some photos of the car up asap. The car owes me approx £2,500. But for a forum member I'd only be asking £2,000. After xmas we may be looking at part exing her for something new and don't want to go down the "scrappage" route as this is by far a too good a car to do that!! Plenty of life left in her for many years! Any interest please message, email or the old fashioned way and phone me can pm my number. Thanks guys |

Photos would be good. Also some more details on the power loss?
Might be in the market for something along these lines, but will be post-Christmas. M |

I'll get some photos talen asap,
Not too sure what the power loss could be. It lasts maybe 30 seconds then goes back to normal. Had it hooked up to a code reader but no faults were logged. |

I'd be interested in pics...
Does the awd actually work? (Can the prop be spinned my hand or not?) When was the gearbox oil last changed? How does the power steering feel? Any suspension clunks? How much history is with it?

Hi, sorry for the lateness of the pics, combination of working long hours, bad weather and kids xmas plays means I havent had a chance to take some photos.
To answer some questions, Never thought to test the AWD - how does one do this? Not sure on gearbox oil, i'll check the service folder. The service folder is pretty complete tbh No suspension clunks I can hear of. Power steering works great. Thanks |

May be be a CEM water ingress or a DEM awd module
To physically test the AWD just try turning the drive shaft by hand with the car in P not running. The shaft should not turn.

I'd be interested in the new year, looking to purchase a donor car, so loosing power isn't an issue.

Hello all, sorry for the late reply(s)!! We had decided to keep her unless we found a suitable replacement... Just try and better an xc90 for family versatility eh?!
The power loss has happened once since the original post, it happened during a motorway run as we were climbing up a sliproad. I had noticed the fuel gauge was low, just above red, 65miles to empty tank. Took it to the garage the following day, not fault codes stored etc and no obvious signs of fuel pump issues. But it only ever seems to happen when the fuel is quite low, less than 1/4 tank iirc. |

I think there is a saddle pump in the fuel tank in addition to the main pump which sometimes fails and gives a problem when there is less than 1/4 of a tank of fuel. Do a search on here and you should find several explanations.
