Default D3 bunny hopping issue

Car has developed an issue where it quite often violently bunny hops away from junctions......

2011 C30 D3 R-Design with 46k on the clock.

First time it happened was about a week ago and was one little blip half way round a roundabout and I excused it as 'maybe I messed up the gear change'.

Yesterday the car was fine on the way to pick up a friend, we then went shopping (engine well up to temp by now) and it was fine, but then on the way back from the shops it did it a good few times. Usually at around the 10mph mark when accelerating it will bunny hop a few times and then speed up and drive normally until it comes to the next junction.

This fault persisted for the rest of the day yesterday. Gave it a good blast on the motorway and it drove fine but then once back into town and pulling away from junctions the fault came back worse than ever.

The car idles normally and once up to speed runs completely normal. It is literally when accelerating from a standstill or really low speed - say slowing down to 5mph and then going to pull away again. Car doesn't seem down on power either.

FVSH and isn't due a service any time soon.

This morning after standing all night the car started and drove normally.

Quick run at 70mph to get it up to temp and it was fine.... back into town for cash machine and then to hairdressers and it is still fine. Leave hairdressers to come home and its bunny hopping again quite violently.

It's under warranty with Volvo as I bought it from them last October but they can't look at it till next Wednesday.

So. Any ideas? Any common things that I could easily / cheaply try myself?

No warning lights on the dash and the car has been ran on nothing but Shell V-power since I bought it. I keep the tank full and the last top up it only needed quarter of a tank so I'm thinking I can rule out contaminated fuel?

Hire a car or use public transport until Wednesday ??

Slight chance it's water in the fuel, so if you really can't wait for the stealer, try draining the fuel filter.

Turned out to be a faulty ECU. Replaced under warranty
