A recent advert on the TV “the car has all the things you want and nothing that you don’t want.” I beg to differ.
My brother and I are of the same opinion that much of the “clever” stuff on modern cars is just unnecessary. It’s there because some geek invented it and thought that it was a good idea. eg
because people are getting lazier, too much hard work to press a button on a key fob (god forbid actually having to put a key in a handle)

My brother and I are of the same opinion that much of the “clever” stuff on modern cars is just unnecessary. It’s there because some geek invented it and thought that it was a good idea. eg. those “cornering lights” mounted in the front valance that light up when you turn the steering wheel and extinguish when you straighten up. They appear to be useless. I had “cornering lights” when I was rallying, two flat beam fog lamps mounted slightly lower than the headlights, angled sideways. The one on the right angled to the left and vice versa.
What on earth are the manufacturers going 'wooooo' punters with to make them shell out thousands for a new car that they won't own? (as generally most all new stuff is leased etc.). Plus people are easily led by false advertising which they cannot see through.

I agree also, a lot of tech is just there as a +1 thing that in reality isn't of much use. Out of all the modern tech, I can only think of a few items I like and find useful (don't need them but, nice to have and are useful).

I much rather they didn't spend silly money on useless tech and actually spent that money on not using fake leather, the most dreadful plastics and nasty interior trim pieces along with with engines that don't burn oil.
