Default XC90 AWD problems.

I have the AWD disabled system check message. it is the Gen 4 system.
Plugged into the icarsoft scan tool gives DEM 000E - pump motor.
Is a safe assumption its the motor or should I look else where?
I have read the motor should softly hum on tick over - so maybe there is a start there, also read about resistance check on the motor, but cant remember the values.
Any advise welcomed Pete.

Probably the most common AWD failure after the splined sleeve on E3 models.

It's worth checking whether the pump has failed electrically or mechanically, it might have some dirt in it, or the brushes on the motor may have worn away (a few members have replaced these).

That involves removing it, inspecting it and powering it up on the bench.
