There's quite a few 40s in scrap yards at Altham just off the M65 that may have a good condition wing at a reasonable price.

If you find yourself at the breakers just off the M58 at skem keep an eye out for a turquoise green blue V40. Need a N/S rear door due to rust!

Easy job to remove and refit. Just a few bolts and screws.

Theres about 10 bolts which hold the wing on.

4 or 5 along the top
2 in the door shut
2 beneath the sill
1 behind the front bumper (usually rusted so either cut it off, break it off and twist the wing off it)

Easy enough to do. You dont need to remove the bumper, just undo the corner bolt and pull it down.

Surprisingly simple job - provided none of the bolts have rusted.

I ordered mine via an online salvage site and was able to specify and order one of the same colour and approx age. So did not appear different from the colour of the rest of my 2003 V40 and no respray required.

I just got myself a rear door for my V40 today from a guy in Rotherham advertising on eBay. £40 and collected it this afternoon after spotting it this morning. Could be worth a look for you? He has more than just the cars in the picture available and were all quite tidy. My first port of call for new bits for mine. Just don't buy everything so I can't find spares in the future!
