Question Rear springs

While looking under my car today to see if there had been any accident damage (see paint flaking off bumper thread) I noticed that the rear springs had a reddish rubber insert inside tham, about 5" long acting as a spring assistor. Is this a standard fitting ? Could an XC70 D5 AWD (2016) owner take a peek under their cars to see if theirs is the same

Thanks

Don't people fit these if there towing heavy caravans etc. Does it have a tow bar? Not standard as far as I'm aware
