Angry XC60 Ipod doesn't turn on with ignition

I as far back as I can remember, my Ipod (which was connected via the USB) has always started to play when the ignition is switched on (ie without any intervention by me), V50, V60 and XC60 FY15. I have just taken delivery of my XC60 FY19 and to my horror have found that this no longer happens. The only way to get the Ipod to start is to open the glove box and press the Ipod's home button. It works, but its a pain; especially when it used to switch on by itself. The alternative is to connect via bluetooth. When using bluetooth, the Ipod does switch on automatically, but the car doesn't display any of the album art. Bearing in mind that Volvo have installed a nice big display, it would be nice to be able to see the album art. So USB=no autostart and bluetooth=no album art.
Does anyone else experience this problem?

I am making the assumption that you are talking about the iTouch which has Bluetooth rather than the older style iPod.

A recent IOS firmware for the iTouch is auto set to disable USB devices from accessing devices, so just go into your iTouch’s setting to deactivate this new feature under Settings/Touch ID & Password/USB Accessories (slide to on)
Took me by surprise when this IOS upgrade several months ago introduced this as I had same experiences as yourself.
