Rear tailgate won

Hello,

My Volvo V70D4 2014 has the following problem. The tailgate can not be opened anymore. In the dashboard window, he shows that the tailback is open. But it is closed. The Vida system indicates that the power operate tailgate (Pot) is broken. Vida shows that the power is on, which resulted that the tailgate kept locked.

Is it possible to replace the Pot with a used and reprogrammed one? Or is reprogramming a POT not necessary

I can confirm firsthand that the POT needs programming. That is not to say that you might not be able to get a used one and re-program it...don't know if that's possible.

I had exactly the same problem, but it started with the tailgate operation being intermittent, then finally not opening.
It was diagnosed as the motor and fortunately the car was under warranty (bought second hand from main dealer) but I had to wait for an engineer from Volvo to approve the repair before it was eventually done.
Cost of the part - £635! Ouch, pleased I did not have to pay.
