Yeah, but its a lot more expensive and I am not sure it would be a lot lighter anyway. Also I dont think it would look as good being all shiny and all.... Also, being heat resistant maybe reflecting all that heat back down onto the engine would not be such a good idea.
For me I like the look of the black hardura. My under bonnet is painted black anyway. Also, at that price I think its worth a try, if it dosent work, its no big loss.

...I definitely agree about the overdrive...I had a D-type fitted to my '67 estate during the week by Tony/Martin at South Service and it absolutely transforms the car..its brilliant!
Other things I've had done are the alternator conversion and halogens. The new headlights make a big difference driving where there is no street lighting like the M5 North of Bristol! Ohh and a decent stereo is a bonus! Has anyone managed to find an underbonnet kit for the Amazon or do you guys use the sheets of soundproofing like Frost sell for example?

does anyone have details of the stalk dip / main beam conversion? the foot switch on mine is playing up and I'm having to drive on full beam everywhere.. haven't been flashed though, so they can't be that good!
Driving around the lanes at night, it would be good not to need an extra foot for the lights while braking+clutching+changing gear.

in the mean time I'll just take the wires off the switch and connect them for dipped beam.

Totally agree with Classicswede on pretty much everything. I'm still running Bilstein yellows, and they are AWFUL. Avoid like the plague. Going to swap them out for a nice set of adjustable Konis soon.
Mods on mine include 123 ignition (superb, can't fault it) and a few other engine mods, D-type overdrive, early P1800 remote shift with Momo Competizione knob, Full carpet, sound deadening and lots of heatshield/ vibe-damping material on the firewall and transmission tunnel.Les Leston steering wheel, early Smiths rev-counter . Lowered progressives, polybushes etc, EBC greenstuff pads, and my best buy so far, a one-off custom made replica of the Ruddspeed race exhaust system: 4 branch exhaust manifold going into a three inch pipe, running down to a single box with twin two-inch outlets, which run under the back axle. More ground clearance than the standard system, amazingly. Car now runs off the clock.

Link below to Youtube video of the Rudds exhaust sound. (This was filmed before I fitted the remote shift)

where did you get the exhaust made up if you don't mind me asking?

I remember reading some info about the Amazon factory race/rally tuning options a while ago and there was a bit about a race exhaust which exited on the side just before the rear wheels.. would be interesting to find some pics of this!
