XC90 D3 advertised on Volvo UK website
I was browsing the Volvo UK website and it looks like they are bringing the non-AWD D3 model to the uk for the MY12 range. See http://www.volvocars.com/uk/all-cars...ical-spec.aspx
The engine is specified as the D5244T5 which appears to be a second generation D5 with 340Nm of torque that was introduced in 2005, although slightly tweaked with reduced stroke down to 77mm. I wonder how a car as big as the XC90 will pull with this engine? The pricing hasn't been updated yet, but I assume it will be significantly cheaper without the 4WD machinery. The mpg figures look like l/km which haven't been converted properly, although appear broadly similar to the 200ps D5. |

Just had a look at the website in the link and the max speed looks a bit optimistic at 190, 205, 210 mph?

It doesn't seem right - mpg figures are well out as well - maybe a glitch in the webpage or it's in litres rather than gallons?
If you go onto the configurator - you can only buy a new XC90 with the 200 D5 engine - No 3.2 or D3 |

I think the data's been translated but not converted - the fuel consumption is l/km and the top speeds are kmh (I think) etc etc

On the XC90 for 2012 there is No change from MY11; the D5 AWD 200hp Geartronic remains the only engine/gearbox combination available .

We're getting the D3 over here in Ireland strangely enough. I've already seen a few new ones advertised.

Alternatively you could buy an 02-06 pre-facelifted 163bhp XC90 with failed rear drive for a fraction of the price (without the 6-speed Geartronic) but similar driving dynamics I expect!!!!

tis true. Saw an 11-D XC90 drive by me the other evening and I have to say, it looked very smart. €51,995 I believe. I seem to remember us testing the XC90 back in 03 and what was it, €63k?

XC90 UK MY12 Price list
Just noticed that the MY12 pricelist is now on the Volvo UK website.
On first glance it looks like no changes apart from prices up about £300 from the January (post VAT rise) pricelist. Why bother with a RHD D3 for Ireland, and not offer it in the UK? http://www.volvocars.com/uk/sales-se...-XC90-MY12.pdf |
