Power loss on V50 2ltr diesel 06 plate
Hello can someone advise me please does the glow plugs affect the power performance after car has initially started.Having loss of power car will not rev passed 3000 rpm.Have had her serviced by local garage filters etc changed but was beyond there capability to solve this issue. So took it to Diesel specialist who said the glow plugs and relay not working and need replacement. Also pipes to Dpf are perished and need replacement total cost of £535.Also wondering if any one knows of local garage/mechanic local to Newton Abbot / Exeter area who might advise too many Thanks for any advice

You might get an answer if you post in the main section for these cars rather than the "Sales" area.
I had a similar problem with a 1.6D regarding limp mode. The heater plugs aren't only used for cold starts, but power is fed to them after starting to get a faster warm up (all emissions related PITA). You will probably find one of the heater plugs has expired - easy enough to check with a simple test meter. The difficulty can come when trying to remove a plug - not the most accessible on the 1.6 (can't comment on the 2.0) and can break in getting them out - then it gets expensive! As for the pipework to the DPF 'fraid I don't know, but make sure the garage has topped up the Add-Blu tank if fitted - that can also give problems.
