Default VEA ENGINE D4204T5 failure

Who has or had trouble with new 4 cylinders VEA D4204T5 engine ?

D4204T5 - Diesel 4 cylinders 181 HP

Mine has cylinders leaks which mean the engine need 1 liter oil / 1300 kilometers

I'll try to find similar case because Volvo France does not help me at all !

My Car V60 D4 181 HP - 120000 kms - feb 2014

It may not be the cylinders, but the turbo oil seal. keep in mind the turbo is oil cooled and works at quite high temperature.

Hi,

Experts made some measurements:
Cylinder 1 leak is about 60%
Cylinders 2-3-4 leaks between 17% and 25%.
Twin Turbos are OK.

The leak can provide :
cylinder segmentations
piston head / breech intake or exhaust valves

Default Damaged engine block

Hi I had a same problem with XC60 which was boiling so we bypassed egr and still no better. We have decided to pull of the head and find damaged head gasket between cylinder no2 and no3. so we got the head tested and cleaned new head gasket. 1st start perfect running 15 min good drive the car out and left her for 3 days until we received the tool for fan belt tensioner. Install the belt start and she was off the 2 cylinders and smoking. 1st taught faulty injectors so we got the injectors swapped between the good and bad cylinders. No change. Injectors ruled out. Next step compression test. Cylinder 2 and 3 low compression. so we have decided to strip the engine down and see what happened. find the crack in the block between the two cylinders... we are waiting for new block
