OBD ON 760 2.3FT
Can anyone enlighten me on the problem of OBD ON 2.3FT 760 Turbo. not exactly a problem with the OBD but with the codes. I take it I am reading my Haynes correctly. and my system is Motronic. if so I can only find lists for codes for thee ZK 116 and the LH 2.4, and there is deffinatly a OBD BOX UNDER MY BONNET. }( }(

i think you have that lh 2.4 jetronic. the easiest way to find out is simply look, what is written on your cars FI ecu box. earlier B230 turbos had this motronic system.

If it has a cat it's a B230FT with LH 2.4, if not it's a B230ET with Motronic. I seem to recall that all petrol engine Volvos from 1990 onwards had cats so I guess it has LH 2.4.

Sorry no cat, but has lambda sonde. On timing belt cover it tells me I have a 760 2.3FT.

If you have Lambda Sond, but no cat I would say that you have a B230GT, but Volvo never offered that engine here in the Uk. The fact that you sticker says B230FT means that it is an FT and a previous owner has removed the cat as it is an expensive item to replace when it fails and there is no legal requirement for one on a 1990 car.

RE: OBD ON 760 2.3FT
Just thought, it has S/S exhaust on, so is it possible that cat has been dumped, and I have indeed got the LH 2.4. also I have just had a look at ECU and it looks like it could be a replacement, because it gives product number but no mention of EZK or Motronic or LH 2.4 OR any thing like a clue to what type it is.
Also on timing belt cover are the numbers 1289459 and nr 539, mean anything to anyone.
