Default Squealing noise after split turbo pipe

Hi i have just bought a s60 d5 2001 model.
It was lacking power and i noticed a split turbo hose which i have now taped up till the new pipe is delivered. It now has a really loud noise that sounds a bit like a police car siren when it is first put on! It only does this over 2000 revs and is still down on power but i know this is probably down to the split hose. Any ideas what the noise could be?
Also the turbo hoses are quite badly covered with grease on the insides.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about the oil for now (could be normal) and wait until after you have fitted your turbo pipe as it may cure the noise you describe.

The whistle is probabaly air blowing through the joins in the tape.
Make sure you dont overfill with oil, on my D5, the recomended oil volume only comes to the half full mark on the dipstick, if I go to the full mark the intercooler and pipes get a little oil throgh them, if its on half, none at all.

Just fitted the new hose and she's running like a dream again!
