D5 (D5244T to 2005) - Turbo condition - your opinion??

I bought a used turbo (38k miles) and there is some play on the shaft. I was told by the person who sold it that it's normal when there is no oil in the turbo. Is it really normal becasue I'm not sure?

hey mate if there is a bit of play up and down dont worry its if thers play in and out you should worry
