I haven't followed this for a while and it seems others are now experiencing the same issues as me. My fault seems to have come back and it's interesting the last time it failed it was really cold again. Volvo needs to sort this out as my fault developed after the last major upgrade in September when I went from Sensus v1 to v2.

Just been reading some posts. My Sensus was updated the beginning of October, how do I know which version I'm on. Some of the posts seems to suggest their may be an updated Sensus v2?

The latest version of Sensus shows a check list in the drivers display when you first start the car, so fairly easy to see if you have the latest, it came out in November so if yours was updated in Sept there is a further update available

Thanks, is there a fix for the issue? Those that have had problems have they been rectified? I've been in Sweden the last two.weeks and know it's been cold at times in the UK..

Go my car into Volvo and they immediately replaced one of the batteries as the diags said there was a fault. They also updated the firmware, at least that's what they said! Apparently the battery is a common issue..

Mine is in the permanent state of waiting for next available appointment since September second service (now 5th) when I first highlighted broken stop/start. It comes back I tell it’s not been fixed they book next one in a month. I guess it works for the dealer as they just keep charging Volvo under warranty. My stopstart only managed to work for a week after one of the visits since they juice up battery each time. Otherwise it was gone within a coupe of days.
AUX heater has been faultless after temperatures stopped dropping below -2.
My take is the battery drops too much capacity in cold for software’s liking but threshold for aux heater might be more generous than for the stop start.

My stop start has suddenly started working since the replacement. I'm wondering if the battery has been upgraded. I now know I have the new firmware as I got a list of systems in the dash display when I start the car. Unfortunately its been too warm to start precon!

If it's anything like mine it will work for a short time because the workshop has charged the battery . After a while the charging system will fail to get it above the threshold and then it will fail to work again.

The combination of charging system and battery are really not fit for purpose, the manual states:
"To maintain the battery in good condition, at least 15 minutes of driving/week is recommended..."

This has never worked for me no matter what the temperature is or whether or not I am using items such as seat, wheel, or screen heaters.

Same as mine, stop start works for a few days after dealer has had the car then thats it until next visit to dealer. (They always hook up to a charge/supply device while working on the car or doing software updates)
Last time they said they had lowered the battery % setting so stop start will work as it was set too high, its still only lasts a short while.
If I charge the battery up at home it is the same, lasts a short while after charging then thats it, I dont bother any more, its a waste of my time and effort.

It is odd as mine worked fine for the first 18 months of my car’ss life then just stopped. I think it was one of the software updates that turned it into “full charge only” feature.

Can people who have it working fine chip in so we get a balanced picture
