Mine usually works well. MY17 XC90 which I took delivery of in Oct '16. Last software update was Oct '17 so I'm not on the latest version with the checklist function.

Don't think stop/start has worked much (if any) over the last week or so but I've been making only short journeys and I suspect some of the other conditions haven't been met. I've got a 70 mile drive to the airport on Sunday so will see if it works then.

Default Failed to start preconditioning timer

Got this today “Failed to start preconditioning timer” when trying to set the timer on the VOC app. It worked fine last week setting a timer from the phone and starts manually with the app??

Plenty of fuel, battery 100% etc.

It’s a very new car with all the latest software

Any suggestions?
Thanks

I got that problem 2 times out of 3. I notified my dealer who contacted Volvo Sweden. They want me to keep a journal for a week with my trials.
It is related to the app and the server. Volvo is working on it.

Restarting the app helps or if that doesn't work try to delete or set a timer in the car manually. after that setting timers with the app will work.

Came back yesterday to airport carpark having left the car there for just over 4 days. Started preconditioning while aircraft was taxiing and got to the car 20 mins later. Warm car and stop/start working by the time I'd driven 100 metres to the exit barrier.

S/S was working again this morning after a few hundred metres. Obliviously the battery charge would be high after the 70 mile trip back from airport.

Mine plays up when I have been doing quite a few short journeys. It is ok after a long journey.
I can see I will be getting into the discussion about the car doing what it should do and protecting the battery and what is normal driving profiles.

Mine after spending a week all loaded up with testing equipment at the dealership had charging control module replaced and the battery was changed just to make sure.
It’s been just over a week and so far so good. Stop start has been working flawlessly and parking climate never skipped a beat. It started in -5 today - in the recent past anything under -2 would say no start to preserve battery charge. Now I am mindful it’s a new battery so it may deteriorate over time but I will just know to swap battery in another two years if problems resume.
