estate headlining
The headling in my estate has started to sag, its in very good unripped condition (if a little dirty) Is there a way of sticking it back up to the backing without taking the whole thing out? Its only started to sag where the "bulge" for the sunroof goes up above the rear seat area. Im sure many owners have had this problem, any ideas? Tim |

RE: estate headlining
There was an article in VOC technical mag recently about an american redoing his headlining. There was some guidlines that would help you, but probably best to take it out and do a proper repair than a make and mend.

RE: estate headlining
Thanks, Ive looked at it, and I think the only way would be to take out the whole panel. The sagging isnt too bat at the moment,so ill put up with it for a while. Tim |

RE: estate headlining
I have had sagging headliners on both my previous 740s.
I tried spray adhesive but it did not hold for very long. Eventually I used wallpaper border adhesive which was messy to apply but it held permanently. This adhesive is pre-mixed and costs about £4.00 per 1KG tub from decorating shops. You need to make a cut to get inside the headliner, then brush it onto the roof and press the headliner up to it with a sponge or soft brush. It will not look perfect but it stops the sagging.
