Default Seized Wipers?

Hi - any advice on what I hope is a minor problem with the windscreen wipers much appreciated...

Working fine for the week that I have owned it, but yesterday decided not to respond to turning on. Since then, they have worked intermittently, occasionally stopping mid cycle, sometimes not moving and then starting after a few minutes. Sometimes when they start up again, they look like they are struggling to get going, but more often than not, they just don't move.

I'm guessing its the linkage seizing up (it's a 2004 model).

If this is the linkage, is it a straightforward job?

Thanks
Mark

I would get it fixed before using them again. I sold a load of parts to someone who had the same problem. The result of ignoring it was the wiring caught fire.
