This weekend will consist of repairing the dipstick and also re sticking the centre cap inserts after i give them another lick of paint, and if i can be bothered driving into work ill weld the drivers side front brake disk backing plate back together, the outer section is now completely detached from the inner meaning its jingling around nicely, which is quite irritating. I may well also re fit the front coilovers as the cnc / weld shop at work did some magic repair work for me, and while i dont know what exactly was done, you literally cannot even see where it was broken anymore, its just like new again.

Default roof rails

Due to a thoughtful neighbour, I won a pair of roof rails from a scrapper, and put them on my V40. They look as if they had always been there. I don't know if they will ever be useful, but they do look better.

Lateral stability will be much improved. You will cut through the air like a boss!

I got the engine and box out of the donor T4 ready for insertion into my T4.

Then decided to do the same to my dad's 940 turbo that's giving it's life for his 240 estate.

Both my T4's have this shape mount and I'm pretty damned sure the 2001 2.0T I owned had the same.

Just remember though that theres an engine mount each side and the two mounts underneath on the crossmember which runs front to back. That's 4 mounts in total.

Spent the weekend taking gas tank out so that the back half of the rear brake lines could be replaced. Not a pleasant job. Oh and while I was in there I noticed that a) the fuel lines are in just as bad shape as the brake lines AND that the rear LHS spring had cracked at the bottom of the shock. Shrugged it off and started taking everything apart to replace that too...and of course I can't get that stupid bottom shock bolt out. I tried using an adjustable C-clamp - now it's no longer adjustable or even usable, tried using a rattle gun, an air chisel, a bit of heat, lots of pounding and penetrant, nothing. God I hate that bolt. I now have some heavier duty clamps in hand, I'm beating this beast tonight. There is no way I'm losing this battle.

Well I lost the battle with the lower bolt and am resigned to having to take the grinder to the bottom of the shock. New shocks on order. The good news is that my old ones were looking pretty tired anyway.

I suddenly seem to have lost power. It still drives, but it's not as lively as it was. And in this weather, it'll just have to wait. Bloody nuisance though.
