It's still raining so changing the lights is not looking too good at the moment

The kitchen counter doesn't really do them justice lol.

For the simplest option, I'd chop the 'arms' off the original Volvo swish mount, get one of these from Dave Barton mounted on the 'plinth', and refit in the n/s/lower corner. (Then again, I've got a spare swish mount from my old grille, so I can experiment.) Yellow would look great against the black car.

For a better looking option IMHO you'd want the yellow moose outline cut out on some thick vinyl and mounted straight to the grille.

For mine, I want one of the domed moose in grey, but DB don't do this one in the right size, so I'd need to find a spare 'swish' from a different car to do it, or just ask The Wife™ to make me a custom plinth. Or I could Plasti-dip dog_book's waterfall and fit something to that. Undecided.

I'm not a fan of MVRs grille (not offence to him!) - The red moose just isn't my cup of tea. The grey moose would have looked good on an egg crate design though IMO

I've still got the after market on mine, it's growing on me, definitely needs to be sprayed black though! A nice little project for the weekend

So the rain stopped and I started to fit my new marker lights......

I didn't think about the fact there are clear bulbs in the standard Orange lenses.

Should I be fitting Orange bulbs or deactivating the marker lights?

I clearly can't drive around with four extra White lights shining lol.

You need orange bulbs, get 3W 501s or you can get LEDs. Don't be tempted to put 5W bulbs in, they will melt the holder. And better to leave them out until you do, white should really only be in the direction of travel.

Wonder how many people assume that they are indicators when they are on...

Oh started removing the exhaust off the car today. Got the middle section and front section including the exhaust manifold. Just need to drop the ARB to get the silencer out, Unfortunately found that the rear wheel on the N/S is blocking the bolt to undo the ARB COMPLETELY! grrrrr!!! where on the O/S the bold is the other way around!? (odd!) and that's undone... grumble....

You see orange side lights on trucks and buses all the time, so there is no way that I can see for them to be confused with a flashing indicator.

Using the wrong colour bulb is another "Gross negligence clause", which is why Mr Volvo made them orange. An orange bulb in an orange light still looks orange!

Touched up my yellow front fogs paint today and got a nice new date stamped can of Shell Helix Ultra 5/40 from Mrs UPS. Slightly cheaper than the diesel only Ultra at 27 Euros inc delivery for 5 liters. Dutch Gold!

I know what your saying, I'd never thought about it before and I now find myself questioning wether I will stay Orange, go White with Orange bulbs or go white and disconnect the lights. The latter probably being my least favourite options seeing as it is a Volvo after all

I'll go see the bulb man on Saturday and try an Orange bulb and see how it goes.

They HAVE to light up orange, others will say they've got by with white LEDs, well, good for them - Their MOT guy is sh*t.

I would stick with the Volvo bulbs on the clear side markers.

I did put LEDs in mine out of curiosity but they were way too bright and made the car look more like aircraft and look a bit daft IMO.

Do you mean keeping the White bulbs in the in the clear lenses?

They are incredibly bright seeing as they may still be the original bulbs, do you have Orange bulbs fitted in your markers? Your S40 is particularly lovely lol.
