Exclamation Engine System Management message

I have this message again. Can it be caused by having an MOT done?

I don't see why. You really need to get it plugged into VIDA (or similar) to get the fault codes. There is, apparently, a way to get the fault codes displaying using button presses, but I don't know how off the top of my head (I have VIDA so don't need my head...).

Have you also had an oil change recently, or topped it up? If it was marginally over-full then it could be casing the car to signal an error due to the "diesel in the sump" issue (when the regen of the DPF takes place).

When I change the oil now I just empty it, measure it and then put back in the same amount I take out. I also fitted a manual dipstick for confirmation and that runs about half way up the hatched area. The latest empty was 6 litres bang on.
