I'm new to S60s and don't know much about this problem. I have a 2001 S60 2.0T S which I bought two months ago under the Volvo Approved Used program, so it's under warranty.

Occasionally, when cold, it will flutter between 750-1100 RPM before eventually stabilising. If I rev it manually it settles down afterwards. Sometimes when using the creep facility (it's an automatic) it will do this for a tiny kangarooing effect.

I've had no trouble lights/codes, it never does it when I'm pressing on the accelerator.

Does this sound like the ETM issue?

As an update, it stalled twice last weekend. Both times when I'd been using creep to reverse, then putting my foot on the brake slowly. It did the kangaroo thing before stalling.

Has no one got an opinion on this?

An update to an old story:

It was the ETM. I put up with it for all this time, then sent it in for a service a couple of days ago and they confirmed it. Fortunately this was two weeks before my approved-used warranty expired, so the warranty paid for the replacement ETM, a thermostat and a power steering pump! Saved me over a grand.
