Default 1.6D noisy over 2k rpm :(

Hello.
I'm desperate for help and advice.
I'm on holidays in Croatia and is really hot.
Today I have noticed that under a bonnet, engine make terrible noise when accelerating or braking with the engine. Rattling noise come from driver side of the engine bay. I'm driving back to UK on Saturday and really worry that I don't going to make it! I remember that some time ago someone mention similar problem and can't find it! My internet access is very limited. Should I have someone to check it or do it in UK? My car has done 142k already and cambelt change should be within next 18k.
Kind regards

Good luck but would add that 185Eu for pulley is a lot cheaper than a new engine.

Hope you make it back.

Hello
Mechanics in Croatia ordered wrong part and welded old pulley together and noise stopped , now I need to order correct part in UK and replace it myself! I had to pay 60euro for it and happy days
