Outside temp reading
Noticed today my outside temperature reading is wrong on the dash.
Quite comfortably in the 20’s all day today yet my clocks seem to think it’s only 6 degrees out? Anyone else has this issue? 2008 v50 by the way. |

A similar thing happen on V70s. It's either corrosion on the connections inside the door or the actual temperature sensor in the side mirror that fails on a V70. I'm guessing that the V50 has a similar setup in which case that's where I'd be looking to start with.

Best thing to start with is give the connector in the passenger door a good wiggle as this controls all the electrics for the passenger side of the car + temp unit.
If it's consistently reading incorrectly then you'll have to get a new temp sensor. It's located in the passenger side mirror and is a door card off jobby. Part is around £15 from Volvo if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the replies.
I’ll check out the wiring behind the passenger door card tomorrow. I have a sensor under both wind mirrors, I’m guessing the offside one is a blank? |
