Hello,

Having read some tyre tests online from various sources I'm very interested by the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's. Problem is I can't find them anywhere in 205/50/17...

Would other sizes fit? Or does anyone else know a place that stocks these in that size?

Cheers, James.

they are not available in 205...but i think you can go 215/45 and they are available in that size but at a slightly lower load rating of 91 and not 93, speed rating is also different.

Do it - all the Focus lads rave about them being awesome (and not just wannabes who've had ditch finders on before).

Go 225/45 - better ride, cheaper and a LOT more grip - am getting them on mine tmrw finally (found my alloy wheel nut locking key finally!)

I recently changed the tyres on my S40 T5, I went for a mid price budget (can't remember the name, very similar tread pattern to toyos) but I went for a different size as I find the ride a bit bouncy on the 205/50 R17's, and they seem to be a very expensive size, so I took the opportunity to go slightly wider too so I'm running 215/45 R17's and I have to say the ride is better the handling is better and I'm happy, I for one don't really thrash about in the car, I drive slower in poorer condition etc so I don't feel the need to buy expensive 'brand named tyres' I have to say about the P7 both my T5 and the girlfriend C30 came with them and I wasn't impressed I found them pretty poor, in wet conditions and find my 'budget' ones better.

I know some people will say I shouldn't skimp on tyres when I have a performance car yadda yadda, but I now the limits of the tyres I have in the dry, and I know they're good but not amazing in the wet, all that means is that I don't push the limits in the wet, but then even if I had expensive tyres I wouldn't push the limits in the wet...

I would say that when I had my T4 I purchased a set of second hand wheels with brand new toyo T1r's on and they were amazing tyres, ultra grippy in the dry and still very good in the wet but I couldn't seem to find a decent price on them for the T5......

Mr Trunk Monkey,

Would it matter if I had two 205/50/17 on the front and two 225/45/17 on the back? Would it cause any issues? I can't afford to buy four at once...

it should not really you have more grip more prone to understeer instead of oversteer plus lots of cars run bigger at the back. if you did it on the front first you wouldmore likely get oversteer.

It's true I like some BMW seat's, they suit me the best, having lower back probelms I have to consider the lumbar support offered within the seats, and these are the best for my body shape, a V40/Leon been in joint 2nd. .
Have you tried a V70 I have back problems and have no problem with traveling uptp 1000 miles a day in mine! Jay
