Default Bent rods?

I AM still looking for bad cold start cause. So far i have checked injectors, glow plugs, battery, fuel pump.. all OK. Another mechanic said that common problem for these 2.0 Diesel engines are bent rods. I actually heard it first Time. What about you?

You need to be more specific. Bent rods don't just effect an engine on a cold start up. If there bent then there bent.

Yeah bent con-rods would certainly cause more issues than trouble starting. Bag of spanners and no power springs to mind. Can't be bent pushrods, because these wondrous magical things of the past are now extinct.

You say you've 'checked' the glow plugs. Did you actually replace them?

Ooh yes, quite possibly. And lack of compression would cause a hard start. I can't see how the valve stems would get bent though, apart from broken cambelt damage.

No, you'd know if it was a bent rod. I'd blank off the EGR and chamfer the butterfly flap. I was having starting issues and that cured it totally. How olds the car?

The mechanic guy told that it Can be bend rods, he also said that it can ne confirmed only by inspecting the rods. And he also said that it kā pretty common problem for these engines.

By bad start i mean choking engine, white thick smoke. But only on cold start. When temperature goes below 0 it is very difficult to start the Car. When ITS warm, there is no problem. I now got pre heater working, so i first start the heater and let it warm the Car little bit, and then start it, then there is no problems.

I have 2005 model. i also have to flaps there at the egr. I also had problems with One Of the flaps, cause it was worn out and it wasnt working, so i blocked it open
