I suspect you'll struggle for £3750 although I could be wrong. Parkers values it as £1,990 based on an average mileage of 120k although yours has about half that it still won't make the difference I fear.

In honesty I suspect you'll do well to see between £2300 and £2700. Much as we love the T5 it's only Volvo enthusiasts that particularly appreciate them. Fuel and taxation costs mean they tend to ward off buyers simply looking for a fast cruising compact executive car sadly. I talk from recent T5 sale experience.

Good luck with the sale and I hope it finds a good home and I'm proved to be wrong!

Iain

Must be something in the air. We're all selling our T5's! I've still to advertise mine, but thought around the £2,500 mark at a push. Suspect the modifications will put a lot of folk off, but potentially be a bonus to an enthusiast. Time will tell.

I would try 'Piston Heads' classified section, which tends to attract the more enthusiast end of the car buying world (and is where mine will be getting advertised). Failing that, take out an advert on Auto Trader. Avoid EBay at all costs though, it's full of time wasters and test pilots.

You could always put the easier bits such as exhaust and intercooler back to standard and sell them to other T5 members cough*me*cough

In terms of where to advertise I'd love to say there's a good way but unfortunately nowadays the world is full of total wasters. My T5 was advertised on Auto Trader, eBay Classifieds, Pistonheads and Gumtree. Every single one of them produced tyre kickers, time wasters, no shows, rude and insulting people including one particular a$$hole that kept referring to me as "ma ni99er"!

In the end the buyer came via eBay classifieds and was a really decent fella but you've no idea the eejits I had to put up with over the 2 weeks before that.

Personally I wouldn't bother with Auto Trader at all. I got the fewest queries through it, it costs a fortune and only advertises for a fortnight. The quality of queries through any one advertiser was no different and often I got the same idiots contacting me through each different source.

I, personally, hope never to sell a car privately again but if I had to do so I'd probably just go eBay and Gumtree unless I was looking to market to enthusiasts and then would probably add Pistonheads.

Good luck.

hahahaha I bet that went down well!

Unfortunately it does seem that 95% of private car buyers/chancers are mouth-breathing idiots. I understand ebay buyers can be the worst in that they will try to buy stuff to re-list shortly after for profit.

This car is really nice it needs to go to someone in the know otherwise you'll get no interest or bidded hard.

What about using 'car and classic' I very often browse the adds and it seems a popular place to sell unusual or special models.
