DAB Digital Radio.

I was wondering what's the story with putting DAB digital radio into my C-30 R-Design?

I' am rather spoiled this last few days with a new V-W GT spec Passat courtesy/option of buying car from the dealer whilst the Volvo has some maintenance carried out.

It obviously has DAB fitted as standard with the spec.

How do you go about getting DAB digital radio? Through one of these fancy adapters is it?

I fitted an Alpine EZI-DAB to our V50. Pretty happy with it. It's the same as the Pure unit Volvo offered as a DAB solution for our cars.

Same here but the other way around, I have the Volvo Pure unit and it's ok. Mine is wired into the Aux port and sound quality is much better than FM. With the internal aerial supplied with the Volvo kit reception on mainstream stations is good (e.g BBC) but flakey on other stations. I bought it because the standard audio doesn't receive long wave and I couldn't listen to the cricket on Test Match Special so I'm now a happy bunny. If you want good reception for all stations you might have to go with an external aerial.

I fitted a dabmotion rola to my v60 and had no issues at all. I did add a powered antenna to the setup and it's been flawless for 2 years now.
