Default XC90 D5 2005 hard to start

Hi,
My xc90 is Randomly hard to start!
Iv only had it 3 months and has been at the garage more times than my house lol. Since iv had it iv changed glow plugs, replaced High pressure pump in engine bay with 2nd hand one, full service inc new fuel filter. Nothing seems to help. No matter of time of or how long it's been drove it sometime will start first turn then other times it won't start at all (unless I use some easy start!)
I got aa out today and he put it in diagnostic a loads of error codes came up but he wiped them and only on stayed (Air mass meter .. Error Message : Signal too low.130C - Air mass meter .. Error Message : Limit not attained.130A - Air mass meter) he said this is unrealated to the non starting problem. He seems to think it's the fuel pump in the tank as he cannot hear it when ignition is turned on.
He tapped the tank and it kicked into life!
Does anyone know if this will cure the problem or is going going to be a costly process of limitation
Thanks

.

Posted on the wrong thread you need to post this on XC90 02- 15, to get the help you need, but I would go down the fuel pump route.
