Default xc70 Charging failure

2010 xc70. 36500 miles
Two weeks ago the car died suddenly, no electrics, power steering etc. (No warning lights displayed previously) AA diagnosed alternator not working. Confirmed by local garage and new alternator fitted. Two days later charging failure warning displayed and still shows each time the engine is started from cold. If I turn off for 10 minutes and then drive again the warning doesn’t appear. Any ideas please

No point in guessing so you need voltage readings in various circumstances from the battery and the alternator and voltage drop tests.
All quick and simple with a multimeter.
