NIVOMAT's
On my last MOT I had an advisory for a perished bush on the rear suspension.
When I got round to having a look, it was the rubber on the bottom bush of the shock absorber. The car is 16 years old but running rather well, and I intend keeping her for a long time yet. So, I bought some new Sachs shocks to replace them. When I finally got the old ones off, they are obviously the NIVOMATS. I have had a quick trawl through the forum, and saw a few comments about the springs being softer for the Nivomat shocks, and that a standard shock will wear out faster if fitted. For anyone who has replaced a Nivomat with a standard shock, does it make any real difference to the ride, and have they lasted OK? Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Having done a bit more research, its clear I will need to fit some standard rear springs.
Hey Ho! The joys of old cars.
