No, I just joined the Hadex club though.

I was just thinking maybe I should have kept my RR but I was seduced by things like a heater, windscreen wipers, starter motor, auto adjusting ignition, service interval longer than 3000 miles with weely greasing of the nipples, an auto box rather one without syncromesh on any of the three gears, discs all round. Power steering, Not much to go wrong though. Oh... and 12 mpg if you were easy on the throttle.

Thanks for your replies.

Another question:I note that the XC60 is made in Belgium-is there any discernible difference in production quality between cars produced in Volvo's facilities in Belgium and Sweden?

Vince.

Having owned two XC90's, I would say the build quality of the XC60 is very good.
The XC60 is now almost 3 months old and have had only two problems:-

I am getting the display modual replaced on Monday, as it is temperature sensitive - does not like temperatures below 4C.

The loose battery connection has been the other problem.

My last two Volvo's were made in Belgium, the 340 and the 940, both seemed to have good build quality. I think they are made in the lorry factory they bought from Daf. Someone who knows more about the history will hopefully fill in a bit more history for you.
