car wont start
I have a w reg volvo c70 and would appreciate anyone who could help me regarding an ongoing problem I have had for months. my car wont start when I turn the key no noise nothing it does start sometimes but not always. When it does not start i notice 2 lights on the dash fail to light up and I know it is not going to start.the 2 lights being E.T.S and the engine symbol light (transmission I think). My alarm has also being going of erraticly. I have had it into volvo who fitted a new throttle system and key antenna yet within 24 hrs the same problem occurs. I am personally steering towards an immobiliser fault but dont have a clue only a hunch any ideas would be most appreciated thanks

Have you checked http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=61415
Is it auto or manual. If auto whizz the trans selector backwards and forwards a number of times and try again. The pnp switch (think thats what the technical name for it is, or dohickey if you want ) gets a little sticky so the ECU thinks the car is in gear so will not let you start the engine. Ramming er swiftly doing that a few times can sort it out. No idea on the dash lights though. |
