tubbytommy Junior Member Last Online: Aug 16th, 2015 18:37 Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Tunbridge Wells	typical! help pls ETM question Right Ive had the problem with my ETS light coming on for a while now, and to be honest ive ignored it thinking I will get that done next month. Well i now need a four door car so thought i would just cut my losses and let her go cheap without fixing the throttle module. BUT... she jus gave up on me i think. I just want to confirm it is the throttle module that needs replacing. she had been sitting for a while so i decided to take her for a drive, i managed to get to the end of my road and as i went to pull out of a junction i got a loud hiss like a dump valve and she cut out. tried to start but the revs are all over the place and wont stay high enough to select a gear, she just dies. The reason i ask if it is the throttle module is because im getting black smoke and a really bad smell from the exhaust. Is that normal when the throttle module goes? __________________ '99 C70 2.3 T5 Auto GS? Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night - be it prayer, tranquilisers or a bottle of Jack Daniels.
