Excellent B-reg 360 GLS: low mileage, long MOT and tax
As I will soon relocate to Belgium, I will have to sell this little gem, but not without some regret! It is on this very site that I found this car two years ago, which is why I am advertising it here again.
In spite of being used to larger Volvos (850s and my brother’s old 940), I have tremendously enjoyed this car for trips around the UK and to Belgium and Holland. I am only the second private owner of this car. It was first owned by a Volvo dealership in Mansfield, where it was used as a demonstrator from June 1985 onwards. In September 1985, it was sold to the same guy who owned it until July 2007. The car comes with a complete history, including the original bill of sale, service records and all MOTs since 1988. It has now done 41000 mls and is taxed until 30 Nov 2009. I have found this B200K-fitted car not only a pleasure to drive, but it has been utterly reliable too (otherwise I wouldn’t have taken it abroad 6 times!). It sailed through its most recent MOT two weeks ago (MOT until 14 June 2010) and has had an oil and filter service. For more photos, please click: http://s698.photobucket.com/albums/vv350/Londonbelgian/ £500 ovno. I have taken good care of her, so ideally I’d like to see her go to a genuine Volvo or 300-series enthusiast, although it would even make good sense to consider her as a Mondeo-alternative. I have tried to describe the car as honestly as possible. Please contact me if you want any further information or more photos. The car is located in Willesden Green (NW London). Cheers folks, Ernst Ernst.buyl@kcl.ac.uk (07891779603) The good: Very good bodywork, very clean interior Punchy and extremely reliable engine Extra set of brake lights installed Front fog lights FSH -Volvo dealer and specialists (recent service) Comes with various spare parts and Haynes manual Good tyres The not so good: Heater/blower only works at speed 3 Sills in need of some attention (though not even mentioned as an MOT advisory) |

The ad has now been viewed 128 times but no-one seems to want to view the car in real life and go for a spin on the North Circular?
As I will leave the UK by mid-August, I need to sell her! As said, I'd rather sell her to an enthusiast rather than putting her on ebay. The stated price is decidedly negotiable. Any questions, just ask. Cheers, Ernst |

Exactly. You can drive any car in any EU member state for 6 months in a 12 month period as long as it's taxed, mot'd and insured without a problem.
Just put Euro stickers on for the light and your are done (don't forget the various rules for breakdown in Europe, ie Reflective Jacket etc).

I have considered taking the car with me, but the whole administrative costs might be worse than what the car is worth.
You are correct, in theory: Quote:
My understanding of current Belgian national motoring law is the following: if one become a permanent Belgian resident, foreign cars (apart from company cars) have to registered in Belgium (including Belgian MOT equivalent, reg plates, tax etc). I'm looking forward to living back in Belgium (Ghent) for a while, but it IS such a bureaucratic country. The beers are a decent compensation, though... |
