Hi gonc
Don't know much about the V50, but I would check to see if the heater core is leaking ("common" problem on V70's). Oh, and you might want to try posting here ... http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=58 instead as you are posting in the "Sales" section Cheers.

My S40 was getting water in the drivers side footwell and water coming in onto the right hand side rear seat belt. In the end it was diagnosed by my dealer that too much water was getting in through the outer seal of the sunroof and therefore not all of it was able to drain away through the drainage holes which run down the front and back pilars of the car.
Result sunroof needed to be taken out, drainage holes cleared and new seal fitted. |

Just had the same. It's the condenser drainage pipe that is blocked but according to Volvo clearing it normally cracks it. They fit a new one and should do a small mod to the fire-wall that eases the bend in the pipe to prevent future obstruction to a great degree. It works out to about £140 at the agents. It solved my problem but is an expensive little trip to the agents on labour charges. The pipe it self is fairly cheap.
