V40 Starting Noise
Hi
I'm new to this but I hope somebody can help. I have a 2002 2.0L V40 regularly serviced. It runs very nicely and uses no oil or water. When I start it from cold it starts as 'sweet as a nut' but after warming up and a need to start it again, it starts well but the start is followed by a disturbing, fairly loud, metalic rattle. If I start it with my foot on the clutch it starts as normal. This has only recently happened. Help please Terry891cars |

I think you really need to isolate were the "rattle" is coming from to give us a better clue............but my first guess would be the exhaust system....either loose pipe or bracket.
