V70 d5 185 fault code p0489 (no power)

I have a 2006 v70 D5 185, I have fault code P0489 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation 'A' Control Circuit Low).

I have removed the EGR valve and pipes etc and cleaned them all out.

One question i have is the EGR valve when you push it manually should it spring back?????

I have reset the codes but just come back with engine service required and no power.

Anyone any ideas??????????

yes it should spring back, take the black cover off and have a look at the gears to see if any teeth have been damaged.

You can also check with vida if the valve closes and opens on command if the internals under de black cover look good
Also check the connector if there is voltage
