What dankcake said.
Use a heavy mallet/sledge and hit metal to metal hard while keeping some modest pressure downwards on the arm (more so that you know when you've been successful than anything else). 5-10 hits WILL free it.
Don't do what I did though and aim wrong and hit the cv boot increasing scope of job significantly.

I use a long length of pipe as a lever on the wishbone.

I stood on the wishbone once to flex it down.

You could undo the 2 bit bolts on the strut and split the strut. then it is very easy to lift the hub assy clear of the wishbone.

The strut and spindle connection determines the wheel camber. If replacing wishbone it's advised to get a wheel alignment anyways, however if I was to change a CV axle for example, I would leave this intact and separate from the ball joint with a ratchet strap (I'm a parrot )

Probably can do it but I don't see why risk and not to use a 5£ ratchet strap.
You get better leverage if you put a block of 4X4 wood between the strap and the subframe at the side you're working on.
