Default Electronic module above blanking plate in headliner

What does it do - it is listed as an alarm sensor module - mine is soaking, water is running down the wire and into it - I disconnected it and got no messages or warning lights so I can live with that. Is it the motion sensor/cabin ultrasonic sensor?

I have not removed the milky coloured plastic cover to have a look at the electronics so I am not sure if it would have survived a dunking or not. As it seems not to make any difference to the locking then I will probably just leave it but just keen to know what it does.

My siren batteries are gone and the siren doesn't work so I don't really have an alarm anyway.

It's the cabin mass movement sensor.
You can test it, lower the windows and put your hand or something inside the car.
If it causes false alarms then you can disable it from the CCM module, where the waves are inside the car.
Also replacing the sensor from breakers should be cheap.
