yep, theres a lot of rot,but the car has been a daily workhorse in all weathers since 1967,so its not exactly surprising.
old rotten metal gets cut out...new stuff goes in. Super!!

Christ i have never seen an amazon that bad. Where do people find them. It is good that there are people prepared to keep these running but i'm affraid there are plenty of amazons in restorable condition out there for little money. That one for me would be scrapped for parts. All the best

Compared to some projects that people restore on the Split Screen Van Club, that's a minter.
Keep at it, you'll love it all the more when it's done. No pain, no gain as they say.

I did notice that in one of the photos it looks like there is a new outer sill fitted that appears to have been resprayed fairly recentely. Is this the case or has it been there for some time. The reason i ask is that the A post and drivers floor is that bad that i would have thought the sill would have been history as well.

amazondean..... this car belonged to my late grandad for many years,it has a lot of family sentimental value and thats why its being restored and not scrapped.you must be frightened of rust.

to everyone else whos commented, progress is going well, the entire drvers side from front to back of the car is complete, front crossmember,a post, inner and outer sill, floorpan, and o/s chassis rail all complete!
just the passenger side to do now, which is not as much work, then its off to the bodyshop for paint!

soon as i get the pics uploaded from my camera i,ll post them up of all the completed work so far.
