Default Halfords do some potions...

Recently with the onset of the seriously cold weather, we had a noisy valve on our 340 LPG. (Low compression also)

It turned out to be badly adjusted by me but intitally fearing a sticking valve I ran some stuff from Halfords through the petrol system. It claimed to be a cleaner, and lubricant. It also said that it would leave a red colour over the cylinder head. Unlikely as this might seem, it did do that. When I eventaully came to adjust the valve clearances, some of the springs were blushing.

Whether it did any good, time will tell. In the event, I ran through the valve clearance sequence, this time removing the appropriate feeler gauges from the set rather than bending them to fit into the gap and introducing errors.

Thought I'd mention it if anyone else has concerns. There's a number of potions to choose from. Can't believe they do any harm.
