I am not saying I will, cos my car has other problems just figured out today. But the brake rotors are close to limit and I was toying with idea if I have to change them anyway why not splash a bit of excltra cash and get a monster. Unfortunately it’s not just a bit. It’s a lot of money. This car has not been loved by the previous owner/s so I have to put it right first then comes everything else.

Nice!
Not a common upgrade so feel proud! if you say discs are worn, and unsure what pads are currently on, it may happen that with new set of good discs (ATE/Brembos) and ceramic pads you will transform your car in stopping machine anyway. What about braided brake hoses? Do you have those? If not - thats another few % to improve your brakes. Brake fluid - good shape or old? Put ATE 2000 in there and thats another few %. All in all you may improve your brakes by a LOT only by replacing/refreshing what you already have. If you still want more, well, you know your options already

Quite sure the MK2 Focus RS has different hubs.
I remember when I bought my wheel bearing removal tool, the 78mm tool was designed for regular Mazda3/P1/Ford Focus, whereas the 82mm tool was for Volvo S80/Landrover and Focus RS. |

braided hoses make the brakes feel a lot better, under the hoof And nose/windscreen wise, replacing the brake fluid and Really bleeding them after giving the calipers a Proper overhaul (seals slide pins etc ) rather than just a clean , with "pads of your choice" and "disks you like" will leave you with an earfull off your passengers when they get there nose unstuck from the windscreen i have the 320s on my 2.4 and are about to replace whats on the front with Gen volvo ones, due to wear and not knowing whats on there, i get "nose/windscreen" issues without left foot braking ,,

Quite lucky with it I know!
I will just change them for the time being but later I’d like to upgrade. I am hesitant coz I’ve NEVER upgraded brakes in my life. I have not done anything on this brake sys myself, so (based on the conditions of other car parts) I think everything needs to be changed. And I will do just for the sake of safety. But later I’d like to get XC90 brakes. Fairly cheap, and all I have to do is mill a spacer for the hub. Not a big deal. And then work on the alignment of the break shoe!

That sound similar to F RS from what I recall, wouldbt it be better to go that direction if you are planning to go full scale anyway? (im just thinking in terms of availability of performance parts for RS)

As for the V50 T5 I mentioned, that was the late Nosh Ronie's car which has now been broken, Dom on this forum obtained the Stage 3 K16 hybrid turbo from it!
