Hi,
Drive shafts I have replaced lately, new ones OEM. Before was extra vibration, when I was accelerating. This is gone now. I will check this week wheels and give feedback. There is no any sound anywhere, just a little wobble all the time. I lift up front and shacked the both wheels up-down, left-right and spinning, but no problem noticed.... I'm not sure about bearings... Or it can still be? May it be something from suspension? Thanks! |

Hi,
I lifted up car and carefully checked tires and wheels again, didn't see any problems. Nothing... I were wondering, is my car equipped with some brake pressure sensor for the reason if there load in the trunk, than rear brakes are braking more? Maybe this sensor is faulty? Do anybody knows? Is made the picture of some suspicious item on the axle. Or anybody have any other ideas? Thank you! |

What is the frequency of the wobble? Is it like an unbalanced wheel front wheel, but without the vibration in the steering wheel? Does it only happen at specific speeds, like you say 40kmh and 110kmh?

Are any of the brake discs hotter than the others after a run? I say that as when I used to get binding brake calipers, the car would shake at higher speeds as things heated up.

I had a front wheel bearing problem and I can confirm that there was no noise from either bearing. You cannot feel any play when the front of the car is not under load. The steering wheel did not vibrate but I could feel vibration in the floor pan. Also check for uneven wear in rear tyres. My Volvo had Michelin tyres all round, the car did not like these on the rear. Hope this helps.

Hi again,
I can feel wobble on very slow speeds (20km/h) and up to the high speeds (140km/h). It feels more even on the slow speeds (20-80km/h), the frequency not changing at all during increasing the speed. It feels more bumpy, like I'm driving over small items on the road. Not so much lift-right vibration. I measured with the laser-tool the temperature of different wheels brake rotors and parts, but no more difference than 8-10 degrees. Seems like normal to me. As I understand the Taxi driver, I must go on with front wheel bearing replacement. I feel also vibration in the floor pan, but not in steering wheel. I would like to be sure somehow before changing the front bearings... But finally I guess I need to change them, because I can't give up Tires and wheels are perfect condition, checked and controlled many times at different places. Thank you again! |

hi all.
im noticing a vibration too but only after 50mph and only under throttle... it seems to go when i come off the throttle.. it feels like an unbalanced tyre but i get no shake at the steering wheel and i can feel it in the floor pan and the frequency of the shake gets higher with speed. drive shaft or wheel bearing maybe? If the frequency of vibration does not change as the car speed increases, suggests it is not roadwheel, axle or even engine or geabox related! Is it exactly the same wobble frequency at all speeds?

Max, you're confusing things now. The frequency question was directed at the OP, are you now adding your own symptoms?
