100% agreed with FM here, s1 map made whole lotta of difference on mine. best money spent on T5 you can think of (in our climate IC is not needed as much as with Arizona guys :P). Let alone a bit more power but the USABLE power you feel is amazing, it pulls until red line and not dulls it at 5200rmp anymore, plus turbo spools quicker and torque increase and even more linear power delivery transforms the car completely.
seriously - best thing you can do fot T5, imho.

Markos - I am surprised about brakes, I would expect it to have atleast 302mm if not 320mm. T5 with 278mm, doesnt sound right even in C30 form...
But I get you now - if you dont have 320mm setup, you may complain on brakes - a lot of V50 guys did 300 to 320 swap and says the difference is astonishing so yep, something to be desired...

Yeh just to add here Lizard, not all T5's have the 320mm setup. Mine has the 300 setup currently.

Markos01 if you are looking to improve your brakes, check your pads / discs, if they are still ok ... get a brake fluid change, will make quite a difference if it hasnt been done in a while. I run the 300mm setup currently (Which I think yours should be as well if it isnt the 320) and I use mine on track days and I have to say they are actually really good and mine is an S40.

As for the remap, its night and day and defenitly worth it.

EDIT:
Just read you have changed fluid, +1 on sticking with OEM parts if you are not doing track days.

I might be wrong but I have it in my mind that they are less than 300mm, I'll try and measure them. Interesting feedback on your stage 1 remap... did you notice those improvements with JUST a remap or with other mods?

OK, good to know another recommendation for a good remap. We're talking rolling road remap I'm presuming, circa £400-£500?

yeh I remapped mine but got a catback exhaust at the same time which wouldnt make that much of a difference but the remap itself was like night and day. I got mine for around £300 as it was just a generic map which is kind of what you are after unless you want something more tailored to your car but personally there is no real need unless you are hunting for every bhp you can get and to take into account supporting mods, I would just get a reputable remap for your car that has been tried and tested, of which there are many to choose. I just got mine from Demon Tweeks and still have it on today and it has really been great.

I've bought ATE own brand calipers before and they are identical to the ones they make for Volvo except "Volvo" is ground off or filled in with metal putty. They're not even trying to differentiate the product as it's pretty crudely done as well.

Obviously the performance is identical too but they cost considerably less than OE branded.
The only downside can sometimes be availability in the UK but if you plan your maintenance and can wait a few days, there are savings to be had.

I know lol, they look like cheap chinese knock offs lol.

It's a caliper though, if it does the job then fair enough!

It's pretty common practice.
Here's a Wahler own branded thermostat for my D5.
Wahler make the genuine Volvo thermostat so they just grind "Volvo" off but even leave on the genuine Volvo part number.
A genuine thermostat is around £90 and this one was £60.
