Default Xenon leveling sensor error

Afternoon,

I'm looking for a bit of advise on a fault I've looked at on my in-laws XC60.

the dash shows headlight service required and the turning lights function has been disabled.

I have a P2 S60 myself, so have vida.

Scanned the car and it shows a fault with the rear leveling sensor. Looking further it shows 0v.

Found the sensor on the right rear trailing arm and the linkages and connector all appear to be in place.

Its a non 4C car.

I'm tempted to get a sensor and try replacing it, but my concern is that it could be a wiring issue.

Wondering if there are any further checks I can do with a multi-meter before going for a sensor.

Dealership has quoted £115 for the part, which includes the linkage.

I could go for second hand from ebay, but the retaining nuts look well rusted on most of them, so could end up complicating matters.

I think the sensor is a simple potentiometer so you could remove it and meter it to see if it is working.

I've not read up on the ABL system specifically but 9 times out of 10 if you do the digging VIDA will tell you how to test and diagnose individual sensors etc. off the car.

A wiring fault is unlikely I think - though not impossible.
