XC90 Front parking sensors can not deactivate
Hi All
I recently bought a 2011 XC90. We live rurally so to pass other vehicles it means diving into the hedge to pass so front sensors beep. I thought you could deactivate them by pressing the P button in front of the gear knob but this seems to do nothing. To boot they go off when going through puddles which plash up so they don't deactivate with speed either. The nail in the coffin yesterday we drove it into a field which had grass the same length as a scruffy lawn and they kept going off. Is this a fault or is this AWD only suited to Chelsea territory? Thanks for any help |

Looks like the switch should disable both front and rear sets of sensors
Here's the pages from my handbook Cheers Dave |

Thanks Dave but the button doesn’t switch either off. That’s the issue

VIDA can test if the button and the lamp in the switch are working properly. So you will immediately see if you have a simple switch problem or not. VIDA will also allow you to check if the Park Assist has any fault codes logged, and you can check all sensors too. And you can check what settings can be changed - I think something exists for Park Assist... such as auto-off when moving.
