Default Dipped bulb.

Hi,
If it's anything like the bulbs on my C70, the holder may be the two strands of metal running across the bulb to hold it in place. This needs to be depressed slightly to unhook it, once free the bulb should simply pull out.

No it’s not like that it’s a round ring with like a couple of metal bits at 45 degrees sticking up might have to go to my dealers to get the answer

The whole headlight detaches very easily from the body and can be removed by pulling a couple of long blades.

Once out, it should be easier to replace the bulb.

Do those “metal bits” have a small turned over end and is each one secured under a small hooked part of the bulb holder ? If so they are springs which hold the bulb in. They can be unhooked and swivelled away from the bulb so permitting it’s removal.

So do you push down on the ring to get the bulb out and how do you attach the springs after you have the bulb out not simple but when you have done one it will be easy

On my 2009 xc they just pull out and push in. However I have found it nessesary to have the headlights re aligned every time I have removed a bulb as they never go back in in the same position.

If your 2014 has positive locating bulbs I will look at changing mine if possible as the spring mounts I have are a pain in the bum and costly having to get alignment adjusted every time.
